Max Kilman has proven to be a tremendous signing for West Ham United already.
But now, the towering centre-back has taken time to praise another of the new arrivals at West Ham.
Julen Lopetegui signed Max Kilman from Wolves for £40 million in the summer transfer window, and that deal now looks like a bargain for us.
The 27-year-old has been a colossus at the back for the Hammers, and it could be argued that he’s been the standout summer signing.
I personally think that he should have been made club captain in the summer, but that’s a debate for another day.
Kilman was visibly delighted after his side earned a vital three points against Manchester United on Sunday.
And he reserved his praise for one of his teammates in particular…
Max Kilman blown away by West Ham teammate
Whilst Kilman himself has been very good, not many of Lopetegui’s summer signings have hit the ground running.
That said, I expect certain players to start producing the goods now – they’ve had long enough to settle in after all.
Kilman has been hugely impressed by Crysencio Summerville, and lauded his teammate after his performance against Manchester United, as quoted by WHUFC.com.
The Hammers centre-back said, “All the boys who came on have done a great job and changed the game for us and that’s what we need, the whole squad to push us on. Sometimes the subs coming on get the job done and that’s how it was on Sunday.“
“Cree [Summerville] is so good on the ball. He had a great moment with his goal and he took it so we’re all grateful. It’s great for him, and great for the rest of the team.”
Summerville completely changed the game for the Hammers when he came on against Man United.
The Manchester United defenders couldn’t cope with the 22-year-old’s explosive pace, energy and dynamism.
Lopetegui didn’t start Summerville because he wanted to keep him fresh for the second-half, when the Man United players began to tire.
That call proved to be spot on, but I want to see him start against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Max Kilman’s praise for Crysencio Summerville should be a huge confidence boost for the West Ham winger as well.
