Keen musician Alex Iwobi released his second single at the start of November, but it’s his performances on the pitch that are proving to be a smash hit.
The 28 year old became the first Premier League footballer to release a record earlier this year and is playing the best football of his career in a Fulham side proving themselves to be genuine contenders for a top six spot.
They are doing it in style too. Marco Silva‘s front four of Iwobi, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson in behind Raul Jimenez are one of the most exciting to watch in the Premier League, attacking at blistering pace with pin-point accuracy.
Iwobi’s man-of-the-match display in Fulham’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday deserved a goal. Instead, he had to settle for a brilliant assist after playing a pass no one else in south London would have seen, let alone attempted, for Harry Wilson’s late second.
It was a comfortable afternoon for the visitors after Emile Smith Rowe gave them a first-half lead against a Palace side missing eight senior players through injury and suspension.

Iwobi’s performances have helped Fulham move within touching distance of the Premier League’s top four
Nobody is more familiar with Iwobi’s qualities than Silva, who took the attacker to the north-west during his time as Everton boss before bringing him to Craven Cottage in August 2023.
Silva said: ‘For me, last season was the best season from him in the Premier League and I am sure he is going to be better this season.
‘I brought him to Everton and then had the chance to have him here in London at Fulham. It was a moment for us to go.
‘From the first week of pre-season I felt he was going to have this season. He has taken more responsibility on his back and is helping the team.’
