Bayern Munich is set to hold its Annual General Meeting soon — presenting the club’s economic as well as sporting status and progress over the last year.
Sporting wise it is still early in the season, but first-year head coach Vincent Kompany has the Bavarians on top of the Bundesliga with five points to spare, with ongoing DFB-Pokal and Champions League campaigns. There is always debate about how well things are truly going, but on paper, the Bavarians are in healthy shape.
Economics wise? Even better.
“We will once again present record figures in economic terms, as well as another record in terms of the increase in new members, and we are already the biggest sports club in the world with well over 360,000,” Bayern president Herbert Hainer noted this week in comments captured via @iMiaSanMia.
It will also be a moment to honor a true Bayern legend — der Kaiser himself, Franz Beckenbauer.
“This year’s annual general meeting will also be dedicated to the memory of Franz Beckenbauer,” Hainer continued. “The first anniversary of his passing will be in January. We miss him. Without him, the club would not be what it is today.”
Bayern’s AGM will take place on December 8.
