Tottenham Hotspur have endured a slow start to their season, and their performances have left pressure mounting on Ange Postecoglou as the struggles leave the Lilywhites far away from their objectives to potentially finish in the top four this season.
Postecoglou sack claim made
To put further woes to their campaign, Spurs’ 6-3 loss against Liverpool in the Premier League last weekend showed the far and wide gap between both the sides that has not only left the supporters frustrated but also questioning the Australian head coach’s credentials to keep charge at White Hart Lane. And pressure continues to build as Tottenham lose eight (8) games of 17 played in the English top flight this season.
However, despite all the external voices, the Greece-born coach is not in danger of immediate sack, per Football Insider. The report states that he still has the full support of the board behind the scenes despite Spurs sitting 11th in the Premier League table.
Ange needs more time?
Many could argue that Postecoglou’s philosophy requires time to perfect, but that’s a luxury only a few managers in the Premier League are afforded.
And with the board showing patience for now, the Australians need to quickly find a way to address the defensive problems and inconsistencies upfront. The road ahead is undoubtedly difficult to navigate for the Greece-born head coach, although his ability to come out of this period with flying colors has the capacity to define his tenure at White Hart Lane.
