The powers that be at West Ham United will be kicking themselves, as news of a potential Manchester United transfer emerged.
The upcoming January transfer window will be a vitally important one for West Ham and Manchester United.
Both clubs are in real trouble right now, with Julen Lopetegui and Ruben Amorim feeling the heat at the London Stadium and Old Trafford respectively.
West Ham seem to be focused on a signing a striker, but other areas of our squad are in need of urgent attention as well.
Some big moves are required from both teams in the transfer market this winter.
One area where the Hammers and Man United definitely need to improve is the left-back department.
And the Red Devils could be set to cause us a really big problem.
West Ham error as Manchester United chase Milos Kerkez
Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez has been in superb form this season.
The Hammers actually had the chance to sign him when he was at AZ Alkmaar, but we refused to match Bournemouth’s offer for him.
That now looks like a massive mistake, with Manchester United being tipped to bring the 21-year-old to Old Trafford.
Romano spoke to the Men in Blazers podcast, and lifted the lid on Man United’s interest in the Bournemouth left-back.
The Italian said, “For Milos Kerkez, I think keep an eye on Manchester United, because Man United are also looking at that position.
“Man United, I’m told, are more concrete than Liverpool in this monitoring activity for Milos Kerkez.”
Kerkez is an elite player, and has been described as ‘incredible’ by Yahoo.
In 17 Premier League appearances for the Cherries this season, Kerkez has bagged one goal and two assists.
During those outings, the Hungarian has averaged 1.4 tackles, one interception and 2.6 clearances per game.
Kerkez has made 31.2 passes on average per match and has recorded a completion rate of 81.7% (Who Scored).
He has raw and explosive pace and power in abundance.
The Bournemouth star is an elite young talent, and he will only continue to get better and better as the years go on.
Manchester United signing Milos Kerkez will highlight the huge mistake that West Ham made in 2023 by not bringing him to the London Stadium.
