Omar Marmoush is already having the season of his life with Eintracht Frankfurt and it has attracted heavy interest from a handful of clubs across Europe, including Bayern Munich. So far, the Egyptian international has already tallied 18 goals and 12 assists from a total of 24 appearances across all competitions, including 2 goals and an assist in the 3-3 draw with Bayern in the Bundesliga earlier this season.
Per transfermarkt, Marmoush is currently valued at around 60 million euros and his contract with Frankfurt runs through June 2027. Having joined from VfL Wolfsburg on a free transfer after a loan spell with VfB Stuttgart, the attacker is proving to be one of the best bits of business Frankfurt has done in recent years. With that said, they are more than well aware of just how many clubs are now interested in making a move for their leading scorer and the current second-highest scorer in the Bundesliga with 13 goals behind only Bayern’s Harry Kane, who has 14.
It has already been made clear by Bayern that they plan on revamping their wing positions this summer in the transfer market, and Marmoush is one of the players they have identified as being a potential target as he can play as a center forward and a winger. His attacking versatility is also a plus for Bayern, as he could fit two profiles in being a winger and also a more-than-solid striker backup, or partner, to Kane.
Marmoush himself has been made aware of the interest from Bayern, but he has insisted that, for now, he is solely focused on his football with Frankfurt and does not want to think about anything beyond that. “Of course you notice that in passing. I’m honored that I’m being talked about. This shows that I’m doing a good job. But I’m not thinking about that at all in everyday life. My focus is solely on Eintracht Frankfurt and on being successful here,” he recently told Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia).
Often times, there is an allure of going to the Premier League in England or one of either Real Madrid or Barcelona for players once they gain any sort of prominence in any of Europe’s top five leagues. Marmoush falls directly into that category of player at the moment, but when he was asked about if he had a preference of league to join after Frankfurt, he did not give away any insight whatsoever to what he might actually think. “There’s always a lot of speculation outside. But I actually don’t have a specific dream destination,” he replied when he was asked about a preference to any one league or club.
A lot can happen between now and the end of the season going into the summer transfer window, so a lot of things will come into consideration when it comes time for clubs to make a move for Marmoush. Likewise, there will also be an onus on Frankfurt to decide whether or not they would be open to selling him during the summer window, as they have so far been unsuccessful in extending his contract to 2028
