Tottenham have to negotiate a tricky run of fixtures starting with Newcastle United
Tottenham Hotspur are currently in the midst of an injury crisis that is affecting the club on the results front.
Spurs have won just one of their last seven Premier League games to leave them in 11th position in the table. Ange Postecoglou will be without nine players for the clash with Newcastle United on Saturday due to a combination of injuries, illness and suspension. Destiny Udogie was the latest player to enter the treatment room and he is set to miss a minimum of six weeks with a hamstring issue.
Ange Postecoglou confirmed in his pre-match presser that Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies will return at the back end of January. Guglielmo Vicario, who underwent an ankle surgery, is not expected to recover until late February.

Thus, John Wenham—the owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose—is not feeling optimistic about Tottenham’s forthcoming games starting with the New Year’s first game against Newcastle United.
“I’m very frustrated,” John Wenham exclusively told Tottenham News.
“Honestly, what is the point? How much longer can we go on, every week new injury setbacks, new players suspended, and players who are already injured taking longer to return than expected.
“We’ve got games against Newcastle and Liverpool coming up, both teams absolutely flying. It is going to be two more defeats isn’t it, let’s be honest. We’ve had key players out for months, it is so frustrating, and it is starting to wear me down.”
Indeed, Spurs are set to face two in-form teams in Newcastle and Liverpool very quickly. Newcastle are on a five-game winning run across all competitions and were excellent in their latest 2-0 away win at Manchester United. They have got the winning momentum back and a strong squad.

Liverpool have been flying this season under new boss Arne Slot. They are the league leaders for a reason and showed no mercy to Postecoglou’s side during their recent visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, beating the hosts 6-3 in the Premier League.

Big Ange’s side have to be excellent to beat Newcastle in the league and get the better of Liverpool in the Carabao Cup’s two-legged semi-final tie. However, with the amount of injuries we have, it is tough to feel optimistic about getting positive results.
Let’s hope our boys pull their socks up and give their 100 per cent in these fixtures.
