Tottenham Hotspur have been subject to links with a move to bring in a new centre-back at White Hart Lane given the injury problems that the North Londoners have been facing in the ongoing campaign, and there have been extensive rumours to bring in highly regarded RC Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov.
The Lilywhites starting defensive duo, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, have been a consistent presence in the treatment room in the ongoing 2024/25 campaign, with their deputy in veteran Ben Davies joining them on the sidelines.
High-flying interest in Khusanov
However, while Spurs were pondering making a move for Abdukodir Khusanov, Manchester City entered the race for his signature alongside Chelsea, making it difficult for Daniel Levy to come through with a transfer for the 20-year-old centre-back. Newcastle United are also linked with a move for the defender.
The French side are open to selling their star defender if a bid around £20 million is made, and to back their openness to sell, the 20-year-old is also open to joining a top club in the ongoing winter transfer window, per The Sun.
Uzbekistan international has established himself as an integral part of the Ligue 1 side since moving to Lens in July 2023, and he could get a dream move to an elite Premier League side this month.
For Tottenham, it is to be seen if Daniel Levy can pursue his signatures with the kind of interest in his signatures, though that said, he does fit the Spurs transfer policy of bringing in highly regarded talents at Hotspur Way and nurturing them at N17.
