Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a new striker in a second successive transfer window as Daniel Levy looks to sign a more commendable backup to Dominic Solanke at White Hart Lane, and one of the players that the Lilywhites hold aggressive interest in is Lille star Jonathan David.
The Canadian international was subject to links with a move to North London in the summer transfer window, although the chiefs at N17 opted to bring in Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth instead. But it looks like Spurs will again push for a move to sign the 24-year-old in the 2025 transfer intervals.
4 PL clubs interested in David
Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth reported via his personal X account that Lille’s number nine representatives have been contacted by four clubs from the Premier League as they explore a possible pre-agreement.
David is out of contract at Pierre Mauroy Stadium at the end of the ongoing campaign, and the 24-year-old is to assess his options before making his next move, which is very likely going to be away from the French side. Alongside the aforementioned quadruple of PL clubs, two Italian clubs are also interested in his signatures.
The former Gent center-forward has netted 11 goals in the French top tier this season, which came in the space of 16 appearances, which would make him an exciting addition to Ange Postecoglou’s roster.
In David, Spurs will not only get someone who can complement Solanke but also someone who can compete with the ex-Chelsea ace for a possible starting place in the side.
