C&H Exclusive: Fullkrug Injury Worse Than Expected
Claret and Hugh has learned within the last few minutes that Niclas Füllkrug will be sidelined for at least three months.
The news comes from a top source at the London Stadium, who delivered the bad update following scans on both the German striker and winger Crysencio Summerville.
Füllkrug pulled up after just 13 minutes of West Ham’s FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa on Friday while attempting a sprint. The big summer signing from Borussia Dortmund has endured a torrid time since joining the Hammers.
The striker initially sustained an injury on international duty in September, keeping him out for three months, and now he faces a similarly lengthy spell on the sidelines again.
Speaking to Claret and Hugh, the insider revealed, “Sadly, Füllkrug is out for 12 weeks, so we are desperate for a striker.”
Claret and Hugh will provide further updates as the situation develops. For now, it couldn’t be a worse start to Füllkrug’s West Ham career, with the player said to be devastated.
