Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keen on adding new faces to their offensive roster, and they have been linked with a move to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Josh Maja in the ongoing winter transfer window, per Fichajes, with the report stating that the Lilywhites are looking to get their hands on the 26-year-old forward alongside their London rivals Chelsea.
Maja has netted 12 goals in all competitions in the ongoing 2024/25 campaign, which has got the North Londoners interested as Ange Postecoglou looks to bring some clinicality in attack.
The Championship side values Maja at about £15 million, and Daniel Levy looks at the fee as a chance to snap up his signatures in a cheap way of adding a little depth to the attack at White Hart Lane.
Need for a new striker at N17… but Chelsea want Maja as well
Dominic Solanke has been decent since he has come to N17, but there is a bit too much pressure on him, and with the injury problems that Richarlison suffers, the ex-Liverpool striker is barely rested, and that’s why adding a player like Maja, who has already shown his strength, his technical ability, and his composure in front of goal this season, would be a massive support for Spurs offensive options.
Moreover, he is a physical presence up front and does possess tactical intelligence that Ange Postecoglou would love in his attacking setup; however, Tottenham does face stiff competition from Chelsea for his signature, with the West Londoners also looking to strengthen themselves up front, especially given how Nkunku could depart Stamford Bridge this winter.
For the Blues, Maja is one of many strong candidates to complement Nicolas Jackson.
