Manchester City could snap up Juma Bah “in the next couple of days” according to reports.
It had looked like the Premier League champions had missed out on the signature of the 18-year-old but a move to Inter Milan has stalled, with The Sun claiming the player is now warming to the idea of staying on loan at Real Valladolid for the next 18 months.
Bah’s parent club AIK Freetong have loaned him to Valladolid until this summer but the Cityzens are hoping to sign him and leave him in Spain until the end of next season.
The Sierra Leone defender has also reportedly had approaches from Everton, Crystal Palace, Lens and Fenerbahce but The Sun suggest a switch to City may be completed at some point this week.
What do fans need to know about Bah?
The defender has risen from obscurity this season with Valladolid originally recruiting him on loan for their B team.
However, Bah impressed his coaches so much that he was handed first-team opportunities within weeks of his arrival, making his debut against Real Sociedad back in September. He has gone on to make 12 senior appearances.
The teenager is a centre-back by trade and, despite his tender years, he stands at 6ft 5, with his physicality helping him to settle into life at Valladolid very quickly.
He could be City’s third January signing if all goes to plan
If Bah does make the move to the Etihad, he could be just one of three arrivals this week. Abdukodir Khusanov is expected to complete his €40m (£33.7m) switch from Lens very soon.
A deal for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush, meanwhile, could also be finalised, with City’s formal bid for the Egyptian set to be tabled over the coming days.
