According to a report from Relevo journalists Jorge Picon and Rodra Pascual (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Alphonso Davies might have been set to extend hss contract with Bayern Munich “around Christmas”, but things have changed.
Now, Real Madrid could be ready to pounce. Davies’ agent Nick Househ is set to travel to Spain “soon” for a meeting:
Around Christmas, Real Madrid believed that Alphonso Davies was going to extend his contract at Bayern, but things have changed in recent days. Madrid are now growing increasingly optimistic about being able to reach an agreement with the player. It’s not a done deal – far from that.
The player’s agent will travel to Madrid soon and hold a meeting with Real executives – a meeting that could be decisive. Davies rejected Bayern’s latest offer. The club was optimistic and thought they were on the right track, but the rejection caught them off guard. Bayern are not taking this as a definitive no and will still continue to try to convince the player. Meanwhile, they’re also exploring the market for alternatives.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano also checked in with his latest information:
Alphonso Davies’ situation has not changed. Despite reports of new deal in place with Bayern in the last month, there was never any total agreement.
Bayern proposal remains on the table; but interest remains from several clubs, including Real Madrid and more since June.
It is hard to discern exactly what is going on with Davies and Bayern Munich at the moment. There still seems to be some distance between what Davies wants and what Bayern munich is willing to pay him.
As always, stay tuned…
