Bayern Munich seemed favorites to sign Tom Bischof from the get-go after the expiry of his contract in June of 2025 and the deal was confirmed recently, with the Bavarians finally getting their man after years of getting rejected by the talented young German. Having already made numerous offers to sign him in the past, Bayern naturally have a good idea of Bischof’s skillset.
“Tom Bischof is an exceptional player with huge potential, a very good left foot, great set pieces, great passing. From the summer, he’ll face the competition in our squad,” Bayern executive board member for sport Max Eberl said in remarks captured by @iMiaSanMia. “He definitely has big potential and can help us.”
Given the announcement happened a matter of hour before the pre-match conference for the Champions League clash against Feyenoord, reporters had the chance to ask head coach Vincent Kompany about the TSG Hoffenheim midfielder, too.
“Everyone knows his strengths. His passing game, his technique, set pieces, breaking the lines. A very big talent,” Kompany stated (via @iMiaSanMia). “But right now the most important thing is the game against Feyenoord and the players I have available here.”
Still Kompany invested enough time into Bischof to confidently include him his plans for next season, without the need of a loan — as reported by Sky Sport DE journalist Florian Plettenberg (again via @iMiaSanMia):
Vincent Kompany believes Tom Bischof is ready to get game time for Bayern next season, therefore a loan move is not planned.
