West Ham United have made the bold move to appoint Kyle Macaulay as the club’s new Head of Recruitment.
Recruitment guru Kyle Macaulay arriving at West Ham from Chelsea is expected to kick off our January transfer window business.
Meanwhile, current Director of Football Tim Stediten is set to be shown the door at the London Stadium, after he oversaw some really poor moves in the transfer market.
Graham Potter has got his man now, and I fully expect him to work closely alongside Macaulay in order to a implement more cohesive transfer strategy.
West Ham have been all over the place at times when it comes to negotiating transfers.
However, I believe that will all change now with Potter and Macaulay driving the recruitment process.
And it seems like the new Head of Recruitment is already getting down to business at the London Stadium.
Kyle Macaulay effect in full swing at West Ham
The 38-year-old has worked closely with Potter during his spells at Ostersunds, Swansea City, Brighton and Chelsea.
Now they have been reunited at West Ham.
And Macaulay is wasting absolutely no time in getting down to business.
According to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, the Hammers head of recruitment will play a key role in getting a deal for OH Leuven star Ezechiel Banzuzi over the line.
The 19-year-old is a real powerhouse, and he’s exactly the type of midfielder we need at West Ham right now.
Banzuzi possesses power, pace and athleticism in abundance, and he has the ball carrying ability we have been bereft of since Declan Rice left us to join Arsenal in 2023.
There has been talk of a £13 million deal having been agreed for the young Dutchman.
That fee would represent a real bargain for the Hammers.
And Kyle Macaulay’s arrival at West Ham is expected to coincide with the deal for Banzuzi being finalised.
Exciting times indeed are lying ahead for the Hammers.
