John Terry issued an X-rated warning after a social media video showed Reece James being brutally pranked by his barber.
The Chelsea captain turned up for his regular trim at A Star Barbers but things didn’t exactly go to plan.
A Star is famed for cutting the hair of Premier League stars such as Jack Grealish, Phil Foden as well as past players N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba.
But the usually trusted barber tapped into what he felt was an opportune moment to get one over on his star client in a repeat of the stunt he performed on Eden Hazard in November.
James sat in the chair awaiting his cut when the barber boldly draped the Blues captain in a cloak containing a Tottenham replica home shirt.
It didn’t take long for the England international to catch on to the antics as he immediately ripped the cloak off himself and threw it to the floor in an act that Chelsea fans will certainly approve of.
The prank was all taken in good faith as the pair enjoyed a laugh together before James uttered, ‘Oh my days’.
But that didn’t signal the end of the drama.
The video was later posted on Instagram and was viewed by none other than legendary Chelsea skipper John Terry.
And it’s fair to say that the reaction would have been a little different had Terry been the recipient of the prank.
Terry replied to A Star Barbers with: “If you f****** try this with me I will throw you and that s*** shirt out the shop.”
Chelsea fans immediately flocked to the video clip in support of Terry’s comment.
One Blues fan replied to Terry writing: “That’s our captain, that mentality won us title after title.
Another wrote: “I trust you captain, more UCL’s (UEFA Champions League’s) than both north London clubs.”
A third simply added: “Captain fantastic.”
A final fan replied: “He won’t dare try this with you captain.”
Terry played 717 times for the west London outfit scoring 67 times. He helped the Blues lift both the Premier League title and FA Cup five times.
In addition, Terry steered his side to UEFA Champions Leagues success in 2012 before adding the Europe League to his bustling trophy cabinet a year later.
Terry will be delighted to see current skipper James return to action after a torrid two-and-a-half year injury hell.
James has missed 21 games across all competitions this season having suffered two separate hamstring injuries.
He made a welcome return in last week’s draw against Bournemouth, scoring a last-gasp free-kick to earn his side a valuable point.
“I knew it was a good distance and that side of the goal was open,” said the 25-year-old after his goalscoring return. “There was a period where I was scoring quite frequently and I haven’t had that feeling for quite a long time.
“I think we had a few clear-cut chances that we should have taken in the first half and put the game to bed. It’s across football globally, if you have chances and you don’t take them then it can come back and hurt you.”
