Two rising stars from Arsenal’s academy, Ethan Nwaneri and Lewis Myles-Skelly, are poised to make their mark in the upcoming European U17 Championships. Selected for England’s squad, their performances could be key in the team’s pursuit of glory in Hungary from May 17 to June 2.
Nwaneri, known for his scoring prowess, netted six times in six matches during the qualifiers, while Myles-Skelly was a consistent presence, scoring once. Their efforts helped the Young Lions secure a spot in the finals and a potential place in the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup in Peru.
Their campaign kicks off against Croatia on May 18, followed by a clash with the Netherlands three days later. The group stage ends on May 24 against Switzerland, with England hoping to finish in the top two and progress to the quarter-finals.
Arsenal has a rich history in the U17 Championships. Gunners like Benik Afobe and Tarafi Moore have previously lifted the trophy. England, the two-time winners, will be hoping to add another title with the help of their young Arsenal contingent.
