Arsenal loanee Runar Alex Runarsson has been a regular in the Alanyaspor team this season, only dropping out of the side for two games in the entire campaign so far.
The goalkeeper did pick up an injury earlier this month, forcing him off after just 35 minutes against Adana Demirspor. But he was straight back into the action for the next game.
Starting against Kayserispor this weekend, Runarsson certainly had a game to remember.
With less than 10 minutes on the clock, Runarsson launched a long ball forward for Erencan Yardimci to chase. Yardimci got on the end of it and finished clinically for 1-0.
There’s some debate about whether the goal should officially go down as a Runarsson assist, as it appeared to deflect off the defender before Yardimci got to it. But in real terms, Runarsson clearly created the goal.

The Icelandic goalkeeper went on to keep a clean sheet, and Alanyaspor won the match 4-0.
If he’s eventually credited with the official assist, it won’t be Runarsson’s first of the season. The goalkeeper also set up a goal earlier in the campaign, and bizarrely, it was against the same opposition.
Runarsson has made 32 appearances for Alanyaspor this season, keeping six clean sheets. He’ll have a year left on his contract with Arsenal when he returns this summer.
Alanyaspor are set for a midtable finish in the Turkish Super Lig, sitting in 10th place with two games to play.
