Uefa ’employed’ Moyes on West Ham player ban threat
David Moyes does not believe any West Ham players will be banned by Uefa as a result of protecting their families from the AZ Alkmaar hooligans following the semi final win in the Euro Conference League.
There have been suggestions that could be the case after Declan, Benny, Flynn Downes and Mikey dived in to ensure that no harm came to family and friends after the semi final win.
Moyes’ 87 year old father was in the area and the manager revealed his concerns after the event. And of course it should be remembered that Alkmaar as a club has apologised for the behaviour of their so called supporters.
Now the West Ham boss has been giving his opinion on whether Uefa could indeed ban our players who became involved.
When asked about a potential sanction he made it clear he didn’t think that was going to happen after what was a frightening event.
The Mirror has reported the West Ham United boss as saying: “I can’t see any problem to be honest. I work with Uefa on the technical staff and I don’t think we will have any questions about that. That’s my opinion.”
