Aaron Cresswell has signed a new one-year contract extension with West Ham but the club’s fans will be angry about one report’s take on the situation.
West Ham have signed up 33-year-old Aaron Cresswell on a new contract until the summer of 2024.

However, The Athletic have shared something about the ex-Ipswich Town left-back that will really annoy the Hammers faithful.
Cresswell joined West Ham from Ipswich in the summer of 2014 for around £4 million (The Mirror).
The Liverpool-born defender has gone on to be a great servant for the club, and the £4 million that the Hammers paid nine years ago now seems like outstanding value for money.
When his new deal comes to an end, he would have spent a decade with the East London outfit. However, it seems as though he will not be rewarded for that service…
West Ham fans will be fuming with The Athletic’s claim after Aaron Cresswell signs new one-year contract
The Athletic claim that the 33-year-old is unlikely to be handed a testimonial by the club when he leaves the London Stadium due to potentially high costs.
Winston Reid didn’t get a testimonial. The last West Ham player to have one was Mark Noble in 2016.
So it’s no surprise that Cresswell might not be honoured by the club. However, that doesn’t make it OK. It’s an absolute disgrace as far as I’m concerned.
The 33-year-old is clearly not the player he once was, but he must be applauded for the service he has given our club.
He is also a real leader at the London Stadium, and is a big influence behind the scenes.
Aaron Cresswell signing a new one-year contract is good news. However, the owners haven’t covered themselves in glory if the report about no testimonial for the left-back is true.
