Because the players have been filmed singing Hammers chants as they enjoy a trip to a water park in Portugal.
Footage has emerged on social media showing the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Kurt Zouma, Said Benrahma and others soaking up the sun on a boat ride at the water park.
Video, which you can see in the post below, shows the group laughing and signing West Ham chants including ‘Oh Said Benrahma’ and ‘Zouuuumm’.
‘There’s a great team spirit in the camp’
Speaking on the club’s official website, first-team fitness coach Josh Ewens explained the thinking behind the trip ahead of the big final – West Ham’s 57th game of another gruelling campaign.
“It’s about ticking the players over and making sure, with a week or so to go, that we’re doing the right things to ensure they’re match ready come next Wednesday,” Ewens said.
“It’s been a long, hard season – we’ve played 56 games in all competitions – so everyone has been pushed to their limits, but we’ve got a near fully-fit squad with us in Portugal and there’s a great spirit in the camp.
“The players know the importance of this game and are preparing diligently to be ready for Prague.”
That video footage certainly proves Ewens is right about the spirit in the camp.
