Inter wold probably accept £50million in cash for Andre Onana but, in exchange for the Cameroon keeper, Chelsea are willing to give them two players they signed for a combined £130million…
CHELSEA OFFER DUO IN SWAP WITH INTER
There were reports last week that Chelsea had agreed personal terms with Andre Onana. But the Blues are yet to reach a deal with Inter…
The Champions League finalists would struggle to turn down around £50million for the Cameroon goalkeeper in the same way they dismissed Chelsea’s first offer of £34million. Now, Todd Boehly is hoping the Italians will accept payment in players instead.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are ready to offer Romelu Lukaku and Kalidou Koulibaly in exchange for Onana. Inter have already said that they weren’t intent on paying to make Lukaku’s loan a permanent move, while Koulibaly might be a tempting replacement for PSG-bound Milan Skriniar.
Tottenham have also been linked with Onana, who said on Saturday that he is “so, so happy at Inter”. But Spurs are also eyeing David Raya, and Fabrizio Romano reckons an agreement over personal terms is close, even if a deal with Brentford is way off, with the Bees – not unreasonably – looking for £40million.
Chelsea are considering alternatives to Onana, with Illan Meslier among them. The France Under-21 keeper was dropped for the run-in by relegated Leeds but still the vultures are circling Elland Road. He certainly didn’t downplay a possible move to Chelsea this weekend, but he won’t go anywhere to be back-up: “If it’s to be the number one, of course, you can’t say ‘I’m not interested in Chelsea.’ I’d prefer to go to a less reputable club where I’ll have more game time than a top European club where I’d sit on the bench.”
BLUES INSIST ON €80M FOR MOUNT
Mason Mount might follow Lukaku and Koulibaly through the Stamford Bridge exit door – but only if Manchester United pay silly money.
United are hoping to land Mount, who is keen to move to Old Trafford. Personal terms are said to have been sorted, leaving the small matter of a transfer fee.
Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea want top-dollar to consider selling Mount to a Big Six rival, with the Blues insisting on £68.4million. Which seems steep for the player with only 12 months left on his contract but Chelsea are standing firm.
SAUDIS WANT NEYMAR AS MESSI ALTERNATIVE
Al-Hilal were never going to take well to being custard-pied by Lionel Messi. And it seems they’ve refocused their sights on his PSG team-mate…
CBS says representatives of the Saudi club were in Paris from Friday trying to lure Neymar with a package comparable to Cristiano Ronaldo’s £200million-a-season deal. PSG want rid of the Brazilian and Al-Hilal are ready to offer them a £38.5million transfer fee.
Wilfried Zaha is said by The Sun to be in talks with PSG over a free transfer to the French capital, while Neymar could be coached by Jose Mourinho next season is Al-Hilal get their way.
Mourinho is their leading candidate to take over as manager, says Foot Mercato, but Al-Ahli also want to meet with the Roma boss. Reuters reckons Steven Gerrard might be Saudi-bound too, with Al-Ettifaq keen to give the ex-Rangers and Villa boss another crack at management.
