Leicester City forward and Newcastle United target Harvey Barnes ‘less likely’ to be pursued by Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur are ‘less likely’ to pursue Leicester City star and Newcastle United target Harvey Barnes this summer, according to The Guardian.
As things stand, the Tyneside outfit are leading the race to acquire the England international’s services ahead of the Spurs. Aston Villa and West Ham United are also interested in the forward.
The Magpies are looking to bolster their forward line in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, they have set their eyes on the 25-year-old, who is expected to leave the Foxes after their relegation from the Premier League last season.
However, the North London side do not seem keen to get a hold of Barnes. We have already signed James Maddison from the King Power Stadium side and are also set to add Manor Solomon to our ranks.
The English national enjoyed a brilliant spell at Leicester despite not being able to survive the drop. He was the East Midlands-based club’s leading goalscorer in the league, finding the back of the net 13 times in 34 appearances.
Newcastle will be playing Champions League football next season, unlike Tottenham, who are out of every European competition. Allan Saint-Maximin is also attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League.
On the other hand, Spurs’ attack consists of a number of quality players. Harry Kane has been our talisman for several years now. We also have Son-Heung min in our ranks.
Dejan Kulusevski has put in a lot of encouraging performances since joining the North London side from Juventus. We also got Riharlison from Everton last summer. Although, the Brazilian was underwhelming in his first year at the club.

Ange Postecoglou needs to be given a competitive team to steer us back on track. With Maddison and Solomon, we have addressed our attack. Now, we should evidently focus on bolstering our backline.
