Michael Bridge says it will take ‘something crazy’ for Tottenham Hotspur to accept a bid for Harry Kane
Michael Bridge, the esteemed Sky Sports reporter, has boldly declared that it would require something truly extraordinary for Tottenham Hotspur to entertain the notion of parting ways with their star striker, Harry Kane.
Several clubs, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, have expressed interest in acquiring the services of the talented English forward. Notably, the German giants have taken the most assertive steps thus far, tabling an initial bid of £60 million for Kane’s signature.
However, it comes as no surprise that this bid was swiftly rebuffed by Tottenham, as it fell considerably short of the club’s valuation for their prized asset. In fact, there is a case to make if the club even consider any offer acceptable for the Englishman.
Yet, according to the knowledgeable Bridge, even a nine-figure sum may not suffice to sway Levy’s resolve. In an interview with GiveMeSport, the Sky Sports pundit explained
“If that bid from Bayern Munich had materialized, it would undoubtedly have been met with a swift rejection. Tottenham is highly unlikely to entertain any offer. It would require something utterly audacious, a figure well in excess of £100 million, to even pique Levy’s interest”
Indeed, Kane’s indispensability to the Lilywhites cannot be overstated. Despite the team’s lacklustre performance last season, the prolific striker managed to find the back of the net an astonishing 30 times. A truly remarkable feat considering the circumstances.
It is widely anticipated that Bayern Munich will return with a revised offer. The Bavarians are hopeful that Harry Kane himself will exert pressure to facilitate the deal. However, Levy is not someone to back down from a fight.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have made a concerted effort to retain Kane’s services by presenting him with an enticing new contract offer that promises a substantial increase in wages. Why is Kane even going to consider renewing though?
Loyalty is a two-way street and there is no doubting how loyal Kane is to the club. That said, for all that he has done in these years, the Englishman must be granted his wish to leave when he demands it. Unfortunately, that’s not how Levy operates.

Kane can push for a move all he wants but ultimately, Levy might not budge. However, with his contract set to expire in a year, there is not much that the Tottenham chairman can do next summer other than see his superstar striker walk out of the door for free.
