BREAKING NEWS: Declan Rice set to FINALLY complete British record £105m transfer to Arsenal TODAY after weeks of negotiations and talks, as West Ham’s departing captain prepares to go on US tour
- Arsenal are set to travel to Washington to start their three-match tour on Sunday
- Rice has been training in Portugal in preparation for the cross-capital move
- Delays have hampered the deal as clubs hash out an agreement on its structure
Declan Rice is believed to be on the verge of completing his record move to Arsenal today, according to reports.
The West Ham captain had previously agreed a deal with Mikel Arteta‘s side at the end of June, but the clubs are yet to confirm the agreement as they hash out the structure and legalities of the transfer.
The England star’s £105million move is set to make him the most English player in Premier League history.
Ahead of the deal, Rice has been in Portugal, training alongside Manchester United’s Burno Fernandes, and his Portugal team-mate Rafael Leao of AC Milan at luxury sports complex The Campus, in Quinto do Lago in the Algarve region.
Mail Sport reported on Tuesday that the weeks of delay were set to end imminently as the Hammers sent through their final approved wording on the deal to Arsenal’s lawyers.

Mikel Arteta has been tight-lipped over the progression of the deal but will finally get his number one transfer target
David Moyes was candid when he shared that he mostly learned developments via Sky Sports
With the final sign-off from the Gunners’ camp, the announcement will call time on months of discussions as Arsenal nab their number one long-term transfer target.
A number of involved parties alluded to being in the dark about the timing of the deal, including the 24-year-old’s manager, David Moyes.
On media duties for the Hammers as they start their pre-season tour in Australia, the Europa Conference League-winning manager claimed he received most of his updates on the deal’s progression from Sky Sports.
‘I’ve just been listening to Sky, and I’ve been taking the news from Sky,’ Moyes quipped. ‘I know nothing about it.
‘You (journalists) seem to know more about it than me, and getting the news quicker than me. So I’m happy to listen to what you people say.
‘Until it’s done, we can’t plan anything. We’ll wait and see what happens.
‘Everybody knows the situation, we’re expecting something to happen. I think you just said it was done two weeks ago and it’s still not done.’
Arteta was similarly tight-lipped on the deal when queried about it as his side completed training in Germany.
‘At the moment, we are working with the group of players that is here,’ the Arsenal manager said.
‘We have nothing to announce yet, and when it is done, 7you will be the first to know.’
West Ham have previously grown frustrated with the Gunners over the slow progress of the deal, but completion today would not only free up an exorbitant windfall to supercharge the east London club’s intentions in the transfer market, but allow Rice to join up with his new team for their imminent tour.

A question mark remains over the status of Arsenal’s agreement with Ajax’s Jurrien Timber
Arsenal fly to America on Sunday, where their pre-season preparations will continue as they face MLS All-Stars in Washington, Manchester United in New Jersey and Barcelona in Los Angeles.
The club played their first friendly in Germany on Thursday, limping to a 1-1 draw against FC Nurnberg after an own goal from Jorginho leveled the tie, which featured new recruit Kai Havertz.
Arsenal are also in the closing stages of their negotiations for the signature of Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.
A deal worth £40m is believed to have been verbally agreed with the Dutch centre back, after their initial offer of £30m was rebuffed by the Eredivisie outfit.
