Bid for Amrabat
Potentially exciting news coming out of Italy, as it appears that the Irons have made a £29m bid for the Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
The potentially disquieting news, however, is that he is not that keen to move to the London Stadium according to his agent, even though Fiorentina will let him go. He appears to have had his head turned by the thought of bad hair cuts and grey, drizzly days in Manchester. Apparently Man Utd have been courting him as well.
Well, even if the ingrate does not want to join us, it does send out a positive signal from us as a club.
Namely, that West Ham are now targeting some of the best players in Europe and hopefully due to the fact we will be playing European football will be enticing a few to the London Stadium
The fact that we are willing to stand toe to toe with a mega rich club like United shows how proactive we can be in our search for new talent.
Be in no doubt that Amrabat is a very fine player as seen with his performances at the last World Cup. He would make a great impression for the Irons, but sadly it is not likely to happen.
So, if this report is to be believed – the search goes on
