Harry Maguire is ‘considering his options’ as the Man United outcast issues a statement ahead of an official West Ham bid.
West Ham are yet to sign a single player in the summer transfer window and have been heavily linked with Manchester United defender Harry Maguire for the best part of a year.
The Hammers are one of only three Premier League clubs yet to enter the market.
But that looks set to change following the sale of Declan Rice for a British record £105m to Arsenal.
David Moyes has this weekend declared his ‘full focus’ is now on bringing players in.
And Maguire is the name making the headlines with reporter Dharmesh Sheth confirming West Ham want to sign the Man United man either on loan or in a permanent deal.

No sooner had the Sky Sports man made that announcement regarding Moyes’ intent to test the water for a player Erik ten Hag has made clear can leave Manchester United, than the Red Devils announced they are stripping Maguire of the captaincy.
In the wake of that decision the player has spoken out publicly in an emotional message.
And Maguire is ‘considering his options’ as the Man United outcast issues a statement ahead of an official West Ham bid.
According to a fresh update from Sky Sports on Sunday evening, Maguire is now ‘considering his options’ and West Ham ‘lead the chase’ for the England defender.
Maguire has taken to Twitter to say he is ‘extremely disappointed’ by Ten Hag’s decision.
‘I’ve done everything I possibly could to help (Man) United be successful’ says Maguire as Sky Sports claim Hammers ‘lead chase’
“After discussions with the manager today he [Ten Hag] has informed me he is changing captain,” Maguire wrote on Twitter.
“He outlined his reasons to me and whilst I’m personally extremely disappointed, I will continue to give my all every time I wear the shirt.
“So I wanted to say a massive thank you to the Manchester United fans for all their brilliant support whilst I’ve been wearing the armband.
“Since the day I took on the role, three-and-a-half years ago, it’s been a huge privilege to lead Manchester United and one of the proudest moments of my career to date. It’s one of the greatest honours in club football. I’ve done everything I possibly could to help United be successful – on and off the field.
“I will always be grateful to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for first giving me the responsibility and I wish whoever now takes it on every success and they will have my full support.”
The message from Maguire, which is accompanied by images from his time as captain of Manchester United, looks very much to be something of a farewell.
The reports suggest the Hammers could launch an official bid imminently as Moyes looks set to replace Rice’s leadership in the dressing room.
