Having become a successful football player again last season with Galatasaray, Mauro Icardi (30) left good memories in the Bosphorus. The Argentinian had notably scored 22 goals and delivered 7 offerings in 24 Süper Lig matches and had an important role in winning the league title. It is therefore quite natural that Galatasaray wanted to keep it.
Paris Saint-Germain therefore discussed with their Turkish counterparts for a transfer and it took time since the Ile-de-France residents also discussed other undesirable cases with Leandro Paredes and Juan Bernat. As for the Argentinian, Galatasaray had to deal with an approach from the Saudis of Al-Shabab but it was ultimately the Turkish club who kept the advantage.
PSG recovers 10M€
This Sunday, Sky Sports Italia announces that Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray have finally reached an agreement for the transfer of Mauro Icardi. The compensation is 10 million euros for the one who only has a one-year contract with the Ile-de-France club and who had cost 50 million euros in the summer of 2020.
In Turkey, Mauro Icardi will therefore be able to sign up for the long term since he has signed a three-year contract which will bind him until June 2026 with the Stambouliotes. Galatasaray who offered Cédric Bakambu and will also complete the arrival of Wilfried Zaha is forming an attractive attack.
