West Ham United reportedly could yet go back in with a new bid for Southampton star James Ward-Prowse this summer.
According to The Athletic, West Ham are considering making a fresh offer for James Ward-Prowse after our £30 million summer transfer window bid for the 29-year-old was rejected.

That’s in stark contrast to a report from Sky Sports that suggested Hammers boss David Moyes has now walked away from a deal to sign the Saints skipper.
The Saints are believed to be demanding around £40 million for their captain (Daily Mail). And it seems as though the East London outfit could go back in for the set-piece specialist…

The Athletic reckon that the Hammers have in fact not yet thrown in the towel in the race for JWP’s signature.
I think that the Southampton man would be a strong addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium, but we really shouldn’t be paying much more than £35 million for him.
I would imagine that it will take at least that fee to prise him away from St Mary’s, but if the south coast outfit continue to demand in excess of £40 million for him, we need to just walk away.
There are plenty of other options out there available to us this summer.
David Moyes has to bring in genuine quality, but also needs to ensure that he gets the best value possible for the Hammers.
West Ham could do with someone like James Ward-Prowse for his set-piece ability alone. However, if Southampton refuse to sell him for £35 million or less, then Moyes needs to start looking elsewhere.
