Inter Milan are reported to be considering raising their bid for Gianluca Scamacca to £21.5million plus add-ons – such is their determination to sign the striker.
The responsible London Evening Standard explains that the Hanmmers have already turned down an opening £20m bid for a player who we bought for £30.5m for last summer.
The 24-year-old is ready to return to Italy, with Inter confident of signing him ahead of Roma and should that prove to be the case it means that a David Moyes signing has lost the club around £10 million.
Add that to the £15 million we are set to lose of Nikola Vlasic and the business end of Hammers signings is looking very bad indeed.
After an encouraging start to last season, Scamacca struggled to make an impact and eventually saw his season curtailed by knee surgery. He finished his first campaign in England with just eight goals in 27 games last season.
