Sky Sports has issued a West Ham transfer update on four targets and it makes for pretty grim reading amid the barren window.
West Ham fans are growing increasingly frustrated by the club’s failure to bring in players in the summer transfer window.
The Hammers are the only Premier League club yet to welcome a new arrival in this window.
And the season gets underway in nine days. Without Declan Rice.
West Ham’s clear priority right now is replacing their former captain and star man.
The Hammers have been linked with a host of targets in that position with some reportedly being put forward by David Moyes and others by new technical director Tim Steidten.

Sources with connections to Moyes claimed this week that the Scot has given an ultimatum to the West Ham board over bringing in one of his targets by this weekend.
Now Sky Sports has issued a West Ham transfer update on four targets and it makes for grim reading.
The site says moves for James Ward-Prowse, Conor Gallagher, Scott McTominay and Joao Palhinha have all hit dead ends.
And despite some encouragement that Ward-Prowse wants a move to West Ham, things are not going to plan according to Sky Sports’ update.
On Ward-Prowse
“Southampton’s valuation for the 28-year-old is closer to £40m and for a deal to get done, they would have to compromise on the price,” Sky Sports reports.
“Significantly, West Ham are getting encouragement that Ward-Prowse wants the move. But the club will now focus their attentions elsewhere as they look to add to their ranks to fill the void created by the departure of Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105m last month.”
On Gallagher
“West Ham’s latest transfer headache comes after they saw a £40m bid for Chelsea and England midfielder Conor Gallagher rejected.
“The 23-year-old has two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and it is believed Chelsea would be open to extending it.
“They have yet to go back in for Gallagher after seeing that bid knocked back, and are understood to be reluctant to go any higher at this stage.”
On McTominay and Palhinha
“Fulham’s Joao Palhinha is still an option – but a potential move has been complicated by his shoulder injury and the asking price.
“Initial talks with Manchester United have indicated a move for Scott McTominay could prove out of West Ham’s price range.”
