The FC Midtjylland ace could be Hammers bound in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Tipsbladet who claim that West Ham could face competition from Luton Town for the 23-year-old’s signature.
The Uruguayan is an out and out defensive midfielder, and has impressive technique as well as a really tenacious playing style.
His stats in the Europa League last season make for really impressive reading. In six outings, Martinez averaged three tackles, one interception and 1.1 clearances per game (Who Scored).
The Uruguayan seems to be ideally suited to the intense pace and physical nature of Premier League football.
Emiliano Martinez has energy, dynamism and athleticism in abundance, and I think he’d be a very good value for money signing for West Ham.
However, if he is the only central midfielder that Moyes brings to the London Stadium, I’ll be very disappointed indeed.
