Liverpool are said to be the frontrunner for the signing of Fluminense’s star Andre Trindade, during the upcoming January transfer window, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.
Since they were unable to secure a high-quality deep-lying playmaker in the previous summer transfer window, the Merseyside club now appears to be aiming to address this gap in their squad by targeting the youngster.
During the summer, the Reds expressed their interest in acquiring the 22-year-old player and reportedly made several offers in an attempt to bring him to Anfield.
However, Fluminense rejected those proposals, as they were not willing to part with their star player midway through the season.

There are now indications that the Brazilian club might be open to allowing him to leave in January, and Liverpool are actively considering the possibility of signing him next year.
According to Graeme Bailey, the English giants are planning a move for Trindade, and it is likely that the midfielder will depart from his parent club in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Reds are currently ahead in the competition to secure the 22-year-old’s signature.
They recently sent scouts to observe him during a match against Internacional in the Copa Libertadores semi-final, in which the midfielder played a key role in his team’s victory, securing their place in the final.
The journalist also stated that Andre is highly regarded as one of the top midfielders in the Brazilian top-flight league, making him a valuable signing for Liverpool if they can successfully sign him in the upcoming year.
