Brighton have opened talks with Tottenham over a move for out of favour attacker Bryan Gil.
Gil can leave Tottenham ahead of Thursday’s deadline and Brighton are now in discussions with their north London rivals over a potential move.
It is understood the Seagulls are looking to secure an initial loan for the attacking midfielder – who is also attracting interest from Nottingham Forest.
Gil has hardly played since Ange Postecoglou‘s appointment in the summer – making just two Premier League starts.
Since arriving from Sevilla in 2021, he has made just four starts in the league for Spurs. He has been sent out on loan to Valencia and back to Sevilla in that period.

Seagulls boss Roberto De Zerbi may be able to offer Gil a clean slate after his Spurs frustration
Mail Sport revealed yesterday that Fiorentina are keen on a deal for Gil.
Gil, who joined Spurs in a deal worth £21million from Sevilla in 2021, has struggled to make an impact for the first-team under a succession of managers.
The winger was sent to Valencia in 2022 before returning to Sevilla last year. He then returned to the Spurs squad hoping for a fresh start under Ange Postecoglou.
However, despite Spurs’ injury crisis, Gil has struggled to earn regular minutes.
He has made a total of just 41 appearances since his move to north London but has failed to score and registered just two assists across three seasons.
