Manchester City have told Julian Alvarez’s agents that they will not be looking to sell him this summer, according to Caught Offside.
The Argentinian international has been agitating for a move away from the Etihad Stadium due to a perceived lack of game time.
However, the Cityzens have made it clear to Alvarez and his representatives that they won’t be accepting any bids for the player if they receive them before the transfer window closes next month.
Caught Offside report that Alvarez is “ready to stay” following reassurances from manager Pep Guardiola about his starting opportunities.
Alvarez is attracting a lot of interest
Chelsea have been mentioned as a potential suitor for the 24-year-old, with the latest report about the Blues’ interest coming from The Athletic on Tuesday.
Caught Offside suggest that Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also keen on signing Alvarez, with the latter having contacted his agent directly in recent weeks.
PSG would probably be the team with the best chance of tempting City into selling, simply because they have considerable financial resources and they are looking to recruit a replacement for Kylian Mbappe.
City are fighting to keep hold of several players
Alvarez is by no means the only first-team player who has been agitating for a move away from the club. Goalkeeper Ederson is said to be keen on joining Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al-Nassr.
The Brazilian has reportedly agreed personal terms but City are determined to get at least £50m for their No.1. At the moment, Al-Nassr are only prepared to pay between £25m and £35m.
There are also doubts surrounding the future of both Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva, but there is a belief that the pair will end up staying at the Etihad for another season.
