Roy Keane is known for his temper and for not being shy of saying what he thinks.
His latest anger came on the most recent episode of The Overlap.
The podcast he does alongside former footballers Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright.
His gripe came from a recent Salford City fixture against Milton Keynes Dons.
Given Keane’s relationship with Neville and other members of the Salford ownership, he has been known to frequent Moor Lane on a few occasions.
In March 2014, it was announced Salford would be taken over by the Project 92 Limited consortium, a group consisting of former Man United players, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes.
The group were collectively known as the Class of ’92 owing to their breakthrough from the Manchester United academy in 1992.
Salford hosted MK Dons on Monday evening, with the home side winning 1-0.
Despite the positive result for The Ammies, there’s one thing Keane couldn’t let go.
“You mentioned Salford and MK Dons, you know about the arrogance of people playing out.
“The craziness I find when players are coming out and playing out the back when they’re losing.
“The goalkeeper’s coming out and he’s taking seven or eight touches.
“I was at Salford vs MK Dons. I was going to hang around the dressing room after the match and just see the MK Dons goalkeeper and ask him, you know when you’re losing with 15 minutes [to go] you’re f***ing losing.”
The rest of the hosts roared with laughter at Keane’s exasperated tirade.
The goalkeeper in question is Tom McGill.
The 24-year-old is currently on loan at Stadium MK from Brighton Hove Albion.
And the last thing he probably expected during this loan spell was to annoy Roy Keane.
Carragher also quipped, “MK Dons are going to f*** Salford in the return.”
Leaving everyone apart from Keane in hysterics, but Keane wasn’t done.
“You know what you do in American sports, you time out.
“After 70 minutes you go, just time out. As the lads come over to you go ‘lads you know we’re losing!’
“We have to get a goal down. There are like 19 passes, MK Dons who do you think you are?
“Get it forward!”
At least shot-stopper McGill can say he’s annoyed one of football’s most well-known pundits.
