Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Manchester United to move Antony on, describing him as ‘a shambles’.
The Brazilian arrived at Old Trafford two years ago in a deal worth £86million, but has flattered to deceive so far.
Eleven goals in two seasons has done little to convince supporters that he’s the man to lead them to glory, with Erik ten Hag also seemingly unconvinced.
That is due to Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho all above him in the Man United pecking order.
It’s been suggested that Fenerbahce could be willing to offer him an escape route with a loan move from Old Trafford, but talkSPORT understands those reports are wide of the mark.
According to Agbonlahor, however, his Man United career should be all-but over.
Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast, Agbonlahor said: “He’s been a bit of a shambles hasn’t he, let’s be honest.
“He needs to move. He’s not going to get any game time at Manchester United and they’re going to lose so much money the day they sell him.
“He’s not even worth half of what they bought him for at the moment.
“The whole thing, him being signed and his performance in the Premier League – it’s a shambles.”
Agbonlahor has been vocal in his criticism of Antony, previously naming him in his ‘Flop XI’ of the 2022/23 season.
He has previously branded the ex-Ajax star as ’embarrassing’ and a ‘bluffer’ following his slow start to life at Old Trafford.
Agbonlahor isn’t the only talkSPORT host to be critical of Antony, with Darren Bent rating him as a 2/10 signing.
“I think I’m being generous with that,” Bent added.
“I’ve always said this, has he had a good time since he’s been at Man United? No he hasn’t.
“We haven’t seen anywhere near enough quality, consistency since he’s been there.
“Is he a good player? He has to be. You don’t get to that level if you’re not.”
