Archie Gray is a special talent who is waiting to explode at Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have done a brilliant job of signing a lot of exciting young talents in the last few years. They have struck gold by signing Micky van de Ven, Pape Sarr and Destiny Udogie, who all have become crucial cogs in Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
The Lilywhites signed Lucas Bergvall from Djurgardens in the first of week of February, and the Swedish teenager officially arrived at the club in July. Spurs acquired the services of young talents such as Archie Gray, Wilson Odobert and Yang Min-hyuk over the summer, though, the latter will officially join the Hotspur Way in January after completing his loan at Gangwon FC.
Suffice to say that Tottenham’s future is bright under Ange Postecoglou. One of the talents that have got a lot of coverage since arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is Archie Gray.

One of the hottest English prospects, Archie Gray arrived at White Hart Lane this summer in a £30m deal from Leeds United. Spurs beat competition from Brentford to sign the teenage prodigy, who is tipped for a bright future in the game.
Sky Sports recently published an in-depth article on Gray that talks about his rise from the Leeds United academy to the first team, quotes from coaches and family members and his future in the game. Andy Wright, Gray’s former academy coach at Leeds, waxed lyrical about the England under-21 international, comparing him with the legendary Zinedine Zidane.
“I remember games where I came away thinking, ‘God, he [Gray] reminds me of Zidane’. He would do things
that you don’t expect,” Andy Wright was quoted in the Sky Sports piece.
After royally impressing in the Leeds academy, Gray only made his senior debut for the Championship club last August. He went on to play a key role in the Whites’ push for promotion to the Premier League, operating in various positions across 52 appearances. The 18-year-old’s performances caught the eye of several elite clubs, but it was Tottenham who won the race for his signature.
Back during his time as an academy coach at Leeds, Andy Wright making early comparisons with Zidane—one of the greats of the game—suggests that Gray has the pedigree and potential to succeed at the highest level. The young Englishman is versatile, possesses excellent tactical nous and technical skills, and to have that at the tender age of 18 is scary.

Gray is certainly a special talent and it will be thrilling to see how Ange Postecoglou and Co. nurture him at N17. All in all, Spurs have done a fabulous job by luring him to North London and we are certain to get rich dividends in the long run.
