Never has anything been more apparent than Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl’s desire to get rid of midfielder Leon Goretzka.
The executive hit the media before Bayern Munich’s 6-1 victory over Holstein Kiel to reiterate that Goretzka probably has little chance of playing this season — with the clear insinuation that he might want to look elsewhere for a better opportunity.
“We clearly communicated to Leon from the start that the competition would be tough with (Aleksandar) Pavlović, (João) Palhinha, and (Joshua) Kimmich, who we’ve planned to use in midfield. Leon was aware of this. I understand that he’s upset at the moment, but that’s part of football,” Bayern boss Max Eberl told Sky (as posted by Florian Plettenberg).
Aside of Goretzka, it appears that Konrad Laimer had better start reading between the lines, too, eh?
