After this season, Bayern Munich is going to welcome back Paul Wanner from his loan stint at FC Heidenheim, but the club once welcomed the youngster for the first time when he was just 16-years-old.
In a recent interview (captured by @iMiaSanMia), the talented youngster reflected on his experience working alongside some of football’s biggest names. When asked about sharing a dressing room with superstars like Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller, and Jamal Musiala, Wanner spoke highly of their warmth and support.
“What I have to say is that all of them are really nice. They welcomed me in a really lovely way. I still remember when I came, Jamal was also still very young, so it wasn’t that bad, because somehow he took me in,” Wanner said. He also highlighted the guidance he received from players like Joshua Kimmich, adding, “They are very friendly people and you can learn an incredible amount of things from them.”
Wanner also commented on how he felt at home from the very beginning: “I can’t pick out a particular moment that was extremely helpful. I can just say that it was a really great time at the beginning and like I said, they welcomed me really warmly and it was a really good fit.”
His comments shed light on the positive environment at Bayern, where young players like him are nurtured by experienced professionals. It’s clear that this support played a key role in his early development at the club.
