Tottenham Hotspur were put up for a challenge facing Brentford this weekend. For what was an exciting contest with end-to-end action, the Spurs came out on top. In a 3-1 victory over the Bees, a lot of redemption can be said to be done.

Ange Postecoglou believes Brennan Johnson has had a good week
After the loss to Arsenal, Brennan Johnson was heavily criticized for his role. He was even abused on social media in the aftermath, resulting in him deactivating his account. Moreover, as he contributed with a goal in the comeback victory against Coventry, Johnson was even criticized for his mute celebration.
Johnson scored a goal that put the Lilywhites in the lead after conceding in the first minute of the game. Ange Postecoglou has backed his winger all week. He also shed light on what he thinks about Johnson’s week speaking to the BBC media saying:
“ He’s had a top week, he’s scored two goals, he’s won us a game to get through in the [League] Cup.”
“ Life’s good. Sometimes going through tough moments gives you a perspective of what’s important.”
Postecoglou has been confident in Johnson since the start of the season. While he expressed his game character, he was also asked about what went on the Social Media and the reception Spurs gave Johnson. Speaking to Football.london, he addressed the situation as:
“I don’t know. I had my say on social media and all that sort of stuff during the week.”
“But anyone who watches Brennan play, if they think he doesn’t give everything he can every week and works as hard as he can for the team and how much he cares, I’ll be very surprised.”
These comments coming from the manager show Johnson is here to stay. And after scoring two crucial games over the week, he is proving his worth. There is no questioning in the commitment of Johnson who is currently on a £70,000 per week contract. He’s started four games of the five for Spurs till now in the Premier League as he opened his account on Saturday.
