Bayern Munich is quite thin at the defensive end at the moment, with Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-Jae starting every game and almost enjoying sole ownership of their respective positions. It could be nice to have some reinforcements in the fray outside of Eric Dier, who might not be getting as much game time due to his relatively low recovery pace.
This might be about to change soon.
According to a report from @kessler_philipp as captured by @iMiaSanMia, we might be in for some good news on the injury front. Hiroki Itō, signed from VfB Stuttgart for around €23 million plus add-ons, is close to making a return to team training.
The player has been an absolute rock for Stuttgart over the past few seasons, and Bayern will certainly benefit from his return. His fleet-footedness and decision making could make him a valuable part of the defensive rotation.
The injury gods seem to be in good spirits… for once.
