Chelsea star Cole Palmer is right behind Manchester City forward Erling Haaland in the Premier League scoring race after recording an historic four goals, including a 10-minute hat-trick, in the first half of Saturday’s 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.
The England forward scored the third hat-trick of his young career by whipping in an impressive free-kick in the high-scoring affair at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer scored his fourth of the game 10 minutes later to give Chelsea a commanding lead at halftime, becoming the first player in history to record a quartet of goals in the first half of a Premier League game.
He now has nine goals on the season, one behind Haaland’s 10.
“He scored four, but he also could have scored two or three more. It’s important he stays hungry, ambitious, and I know him from many years ago with the under-23s at City and with the first team,” Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca said after the historic performance, according to ESPN.
“What he was as a boy is exactly what he was three or four years ago. Goals, assists, best player of the Premier League – this doesn’t change the way he is. He’s a humble guy, and for me it’s the most important thing.
“He’s a top player, and today in football young players can change quick. Cole scores goals and never changes, and this is the most important thing.”
