If Bayern Munich is going to take a run at Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, it will likely have to do battle with Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Arsenal FC.
While financially it will be tough to compete, Wirtz does not appear to be — at this stage — all that eager to leave Germany. Regardless, he will have options:
Real Madrid, Manchester City and Arsenal have a “good chance” of signing Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz next summer, SPORT BILD reports.
The German outlet also reports that Barcelona are out of the running in the race to sign Wirtz, who could cost as much as €150m.
Bayern Munich remain interested in the 21-year-old attacking midfielder, who will only go to a club that has a realistic chance of winning the UEFA Champions League.
More than ever, it feels like Wirtz is going to seriously consider a move to Bayern Munich — whether the club has a dire need for an attacking midfielder or not. It is clear that Bayern Munich wants him badly, Germany wants to keep him close by, and just about everyone wants to see him emerge as a bonafide star for both club and country.
Wirtz is on his way to doing that, but will he be able to resist the money and opportunities presented by Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Arsenal?
Contrary to reports, Chelsea FC did not have interest in Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović during the summer:
Chelsea did not consider making a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic over the summer, despite reports claiming the contrary.
Bayern Munich’s scorching start has hit a little bit of a bump in the road, so this weekend’s match against Eintracht Frankfurt figures to be an important one.
No one — and we mean no one — wants to see the Bavarians enter this break on a three-game winless streak, so let’s get moving!
How does everyone feel about things? Let’s discuss the state of it all. This is what we have on tap for this episode of the Weekend Warm-up Show:
- Breaking down the Vincent Kompany conundrum — it is okay to criticize him as he goes along the path of figuring out how to make Bayern Munich the best possible team it can be. However, it is far too early to jump off the bandwagon (unless you want to pull the Charlie Day “Wild Card” move…which is always acceptable).
- An injury to Jamal Musiala has some fans holding their collective breath.
- Analyzing the German national team roster selections and how things might play out. Also, taking a look at who got left out from Germany’s squad.
- A show wrap up that includes some final thoughts headed into the weekend, plus an update on the Game of Thrones re-watch.
Juventus could be looking at as many as four players on RB Leipzig’s roster:
Juventus are keeping tabs on a quartet of players from RB Leipzig, according to Calciomercato. Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is reported to have watched striker Benjamin Sesko (21), attacking midfielder Xavi Simons (21), winger Antonio Nusa (19) and centre-back Castello Lukeba (20) of late, with the Bianconeri exploring potential transfer options in the next two transfer windows. Sesko is believed to be top of their wishlist.
Omar Marmoush’s performances so far this season has drawn interest from Liverpool FC, Manchester United:
Man Utd and Liverpool are both eyeing moves for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush, who has six goals and three assists in five Bundesliga games so far this season.
Bayern Munich is coming off of two games without a win and will be looking to add three points to its total with a tough matchup on the road against Eintracht Frankfurt.
After earning a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen and dropping a 1-0 decision to Aston Villa in the Champions League, Bayern Munich will seek to see its vaunted attacking group get back to its high-scoring ways.
That could prove to be a difficult task against a talented and dangerous Eintracht Frankfurt side, who is currently sitting in second place, just a point behind Bayern Munich. This is what we have on tap:
- Why this match will tell us a lot about both teams.
- A look at where each team is in the table and the recent form of each squad.
- A look at the rosters and injuries for Eintracht Frankfurt and the Bayern Munich.
- A guess at Bayern Munich’s starting XI.
- A prediction on the match.
This can’t be true…right? FC Barcelona is allegedly looking to bring back Neymar:
Barcelona are weighing up a sensational move for former player Neymar, reports Spanish outlet Sport.
The paper suggests a move for the 32-year old could hinge on the future of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland — with Neymar being the backup transfer target should Barca miss out on the Norway striker.
It is reported that the LaLiga giants have made Haaland their “top priority” for the summer of 2025 however, with Neymar’s Al Hilal contract expiring next summer, he will soon be able to sign for the club of his choosing on a free transfer.
With hopes of being selected for Brazil’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad, a return to Barcelona could be the perfect way for him to stay match-ready in the months leading up to the tournament.
Neymar is currently preparing for his return to action, having spent a year on the sidelines after rupturing his cruciate ligament.
At one point, Gleison Bremer was on Bayern Munich’s transfer radar. Now, he’s out of action with Juventus due to a torn ACL:
