Per a release from FCBayern.com, Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala is likely going to miss this weekend’s Bundesliga match vs. Eintracht Frankfurt.
The note from the club was brief and cryptic, but does seem to to indicate that Musiala’s status for this weekend — and maybe for international duty with the German national team — is in jeopardy:
Jamal Musiala will be sidelined for the time being as the Bayern midfielder contends with a hip problem following examination by the club’s medical staff.
Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Musiala is out for at least the next week-and-a-half:
Bayern confirm that Jamal Musiala will be sidelined for the time being with a hip problem
According to @kerry_hau, he will miss the game against Frankfurt as well as Germany’s games against Bosnia and The Netherlands. Musiala will stay in Munich to work on his comeback.
Thomas Müller, Michael Olise, and Leroy Sane look to be the most likely replacements for Musiala.
As for Germany, it looks like Julian Nagelsmann has already moved on. Per Sky journalist PJ Berger, VfB Stuttgart’s Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling will be called up to replace Musiala.
