Spanish winger Bryan Zaragoza did not have an easy time in his half-season at Bayern Munich.
Signed as an attacking talent for the future under sporting director Christoph Freund, Zaragoza saw his move to Bavaria accelerated in last season’s January transfer window amid a minor injury crisis. But new board member for sport Max Eberl came in after that, followed by new head coach Vincent Kompany this summer — and the last coach, Thomas Tuchel, rarely played him anyway.
Still, Zaragoza, now enjoying life in La Liga once again, would not change a thing.
“No, I don’t regret it at all,” Zaragoza said of his brief Bayern adventure on the radio program La Jugada de Granada con Miguel López (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Two years ago I was playing in the second division and then Bayern Munich signed me after that, so that’s something unbelievable for any player in that situation, everybody wants to play there and it was a unique experience. So no, I don’t regret it at all.”
Now on loan at Osasuna, the 23-year-old is starring regularly again — even helping put Bayern’s Champions League opponents FC Barcelona to the sword — and looking unlikely to return to Germany.
