It has been coming for some time now. Against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, Adam Aznou was finally handed his debut for Bayern Munich. After impressing in pre-season, captaining Bayern’s U-19s in the UEFA Youth league, and making his debut for the Morocco national team (even winning the MOTM award to boot), one can say that it was coming.
But Aznou’s work is far from over. When asked about the former FC Barcelona youth player, head coach Vincent Kompany praised the youngster but warned him to keep going.
“I’ve always said we’re very happy with the young players we have in the team. Adam has done well in training and also with the national team. He can be proud, his parents can be proud and happy,” Kompany said in comments captured via @iMiaSanMia. “Now he has to keep working. There’s still a lot of work to do.”
Kompany knows that reaching for Aznou, his debut for Bayern cannot be the apex. The youngster will need to keep recommending himself to make the necessary progress. But, if this year is anything to go by, Aznou himself realizes this as well and will put in the hard yards to succeed at Bayern.
