Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller was pleased with what he saw as his team battered Union 3-0 in the Bundesliga.
“If we analyze it in detail, there were certainly a few situations today, especially in the first half, where we were a bit lucky. But the path we are taking at the moment is not only producing a great style of play, but also results. We are dominant and we’re allowing very few shots, especially when you compare that to the past few years. We have now won three games with clean sheets against teams that are themselves more defensively oriented,” said Müller (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Accordingly, it’s of course different to playing against Barcelona or against Frankfurt. But it’s still the case that we actually have a lot of control with our style of play and the opponent has few promising scoring chances. The quality is great.”
What Müller says is true, there is a difference between dominating Union Berlin and facing off with the likes of FC Barcelona or even Eintracht Frankfurt. A test awaits the Bavarians on Wednesday with Benfica…can the boys up their level of play?
