Bayern Munich is navigating several major contract extensions with star players on expiring deals at the moment. But while things look promising in the case of Joshua Kimmich and perhaps even Leroy Sané, the waters are far more murky for Canadian international Alphonso Davies.
The left-back is enjoying a bright start to the 2024/25 season under Vincent Kompany, who has also spoken glowingly about the 23-year-old. But big clubs — Real Madrid and Manchester United — are circling, and the contact who may be most important to getting a deal actually done, Davies’ agent, could be a sticking point.
Here’s the less-than-promising report from Sport Bild chief Christian Falk, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Bayern don’t want to speak to Alphonso Davies’ agent Nick Huoseh at the moment. They’re interested in keeping in touch with the player himself, but a potential new deal is getting more difficult. Real Madrid ‘really want’ Davies and are still the favourites to sign him on a free transfer. Could Davies really depart for Real Madrid — or even the Premier League?
