This week, comments emerged from FC Barcelona club chief Joan Laporta’s advisor, Enric Masip, regarding Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Lamine Yamal. Nonetheless, in the future there
Mundo Deportivo reported that PSG was prepared to break its own transfer record this past summer, offering up to €250 million—surpassing the €222 million they spent before—to sign Yamal.
Masip spoke with El Chiringuito and noted: “Paris Saint-Germain made an offer worth €250 million for Lamine Yamal last summer. Laporta didn’t even consider that, no chance to sell Lamine.”
However, L’Equipe reports that PSG have firmly denied claims that they offered €250 million for Yamal, stressing their position as “one million percent” certain. The club explained that it was financially impossible for them to make such an offer during the summer transfer window.
What’s the latest on PSG’s interest in Lamine Yamal
According to information from SPORT (h/t Le10Sport), neither sporting advisor Luis Campos nor club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi have made an offer to FC Barcelona. However, that doesn’t stop PSG from being interested in the Spanish talent.
The Spanish media outlet also confirms that PSG are fond of Yamal’s profile, which is not surprising given the young winger’s talent at Barcelona.
But more importantly, the Spanish outlet adds that one man could make a difference: Jorge Mendes. Close to the clubs, the Portuguese agent has developed a habit of working with Luis Campos. The only question now is whether that will be enough to complete such a deal.
